Áine Carlin teams-up with Bio-D for Eat. Clean. campaign

Vegan food writer and blogger Áine Carlin is working with green cleaning company Bio-D for their campaign 'Eat. Clean.', aiming to get people who love good food to think about the environmental impact everyday kitchen products such as washing up liquid and hand soap have.

The campaign is launching in light of the current focus on plastic in our oceans after the release of Blue Planet II. Millions of tonnes of single-use plastic waste is produced in the UK each year which takes hundreds of years to break down, causing harm to people and wildlife here and around the world.

Bio-D is helping to solve this problem with their new 100 per cent recycled material, reusing plastic waste from the UK that would otherwise go to landfill, plus reducing energy consumption in manufacture.

Bio-D managing director, Lloyd Atkin, said: “Our aim at Bio-D is to make products which don’t cost the Earth and we work consistently across all our production processes, from the ingredients we put in our bottles to the packaging we use to make them, to protect our planet. We also think price shouldn’t be a barrier to buying green products that work which is why the Bio D range is both affordable as well as high-quality.”

Áine is the UK’s best-selling vegan author with several vegan cookery books published. She has selected two recipes to support of the Eat. Clean. campaign: Sticky Gingerbread Bites and Crispy Cinnamon Potato Tacos. They're both inspired by the natural ingredients used in Bio-D products, such as fresh lime juice. For Aine, the Eat. Clean. campaign is a great way for foodies like her to help lessen the impact of plastic waste on the environment by being aware of the products they use in the kitchen:

“I already use Bio-D products and I hope that by supporting the Eat. Clean. campaign, more people will think about the impact everyday household products can have on the environment.

It is important to me to be able to keep my home and particularly my kitchen clean in an ethical and sustainable way which is why I choose Bio-D.

The recent images we have seen of plastic waste in our oceans have been truly shocking but by making simple change such as switching to Bio-D, we can help make a difference.”
